John Kapenga Painting is a fully licensed and insured local painting company, specializing in a wide range of services including walls, trim, cabinetry, and more. Driven by a deep commitment to sustainability, I exclusively use low-VOC paints and finishes to minimize environmental impact. I am also certified in lead-safe practices, ensuring that homes with existing lead paint are treated with the utmost care, protecting the health and safety of my clients.

My journey in painting began during high school, where I worked for a painting contractor in Holland, MI, focusing on custom home construction along the Lake Michigan shoreline. While attending Calvin College, I continued honing my craft and graduated in 2008 with a degree in International Development. Shortly thereafter, I founded John Kapenga Painting. For eight years, my wife and I operated our business in Grandville, MI, serving clients throughout the greater Grand Rapids area, while she pursued a career in ministry.

In 2016, we relocated to Carlisle, PA for a ministry opportunity, where I also established a painting company. After two years, we made the decision to move again, this time to Sparks, NV. However, after a brief stint in Nevada, we returned to our roots in Michigan, where we now reside and operate out of Byron Center.

Amidst these transitions, our commitment to quality, client satisfaction, and excellence in service has remained unwavering. I take pride in delivering superior results that stand the test of time.

For my projects, I prefer using industry-leading brands like Repcolite, Sherwin-Williams, and Benjamin Moore, as I believe the best products provide lasting value and save my clients money in the long run.
